Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the CookieBookie app (“CookieBookie,” “we,” “us,” or “the app”), operated by Nilsen Lab. By using CookieBookie, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Acceptable use
You agree to use CookieBookie only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- Upload, share, or post content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, hateful, infringing, or otherwise objectionable
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its backend
- Use the app’s AI features to generate content that is harmful, deceptive, or unlawful
We may suspend or remove access or content that violates these Terms.
Your content
CookieBookie lets you create recipes, comments, and other content, and share that content with cookbooks and people you choose. You are responsible for the content you add and for making sure you have the right to add and share it. You retain ownership of your content. You grant us permission to store, process, and display your content as needed to operate the app’s features, including processing scanned images and text through our service providers as described in our Privacy Policy.
You can report objectionable content from within the app, and you can block another contributor’s content. We may review reported content and take action at our discretion.
AI features and food safety
CookieBookie includes AI-powered features that scan recipe photos, suggest recipes, and answer questions about recipes. AI output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable.
Recipes, ingredient quantities, cooking times, temperatures, and substitutions produced or suggested by the AI are not guaranteed to be correct or safe. You are responsible for using your own judgment, especially regarding food safety, allergies, dietary restrictions, and proper cooking and storage. Always verify ingredients and cooking instructions before preparing or eating food. CookieBookie is not a substitute for professional or medical advice.
No warranty
CookieBookie is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content or AI output will be accurate or reliable.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CookieBookie and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the app, including reliance on any recipe, AI output, or other content.
App stores
Your use of the app is also subject to the rules of the store you downloaded it from (Apple App Store or Google Play). This agreement is between you and us, not with Apple or Google, and those stores are not responsible for the app or its content. We, not the app stores, are solely responsible for the app and for any support or maintenance.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as “terrorist-supporting,” and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Norway will have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
